The implementation of new waste management legislation

The implementation of new waste management legislation is ongoing. The Law of Ukraine "On Waste Management", which came into force in July 2023, is reforming the entire waste management sector. During this time, a number of resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers, orders of the Ministry of Ecology, and instructions were adopted, which led to significant changes in the conditions and requirements in the field of waste management, as well as to complete changes in the existing permitting and reporting documents in this area, including licensing and filing of declarations, and a new type of permit for waste treatment operations. One of the peculiarities of this process is the complete digitalization of the procedure for obtaining these documents, and in the case of the waste declaration, the exclusive possibility of a digital application procedure. It should be noted that Inter-Eco PE is actively involved in the implementation of new legislative requirements, in particular by providing consulting services to all stakeholders: waste generators, waste handlers and licensees. To this end, our specialists have undergone a number of trainings, including advanced training courses at the State Environmental Academy of Postgraduate Education and Management of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, which is confirmed by the relevant certificate of advanced training.
